Wakka's overdrive

I'm currently quite late into the game (about the enter sin) and I decided to try my hand at Blitzball to unlock Wakka's other overdrives. I have just finished the first tournement and won the attack reels.

Now, I've read a guide which says after winning the attack reels you have to fight 250 battles with fiends before the status reels are obtainable. I'm just wondering (and hoping) is this 250 battles as in total since the start of the game or 250 battles after winning the attack reels?

personally Attack reels is all you need, though you need to play to get his sigil (assuming you want his celestial weapon)

as for the battles, its 250 from the beginning of the game, if you are at Sin, then you will have no trouble with any.

I'm pretty sure it's just 250, because it doesn't specify with an after.

Just from the start. I didn't fight at all between gaining reels on Wakka's weapon. I just played lots and lots of blitzball. And went slightly insane.

I've never even seen any of Wakka's overdrives besides Elemental reels. I hate Blitzball so much.

I got attack reels once, but that's it. Come to think of it I don't use Wakka that much.

Correction. Mix is the best overdrive in the game. But attack reels at full power does come to a close second.

Okay thanks, another question - How do I gain the next set of reels? Ive been in several tournements but the prize so far has not been another set of reels.

Ok but where the heck do you recruit wakka for blitzball do you have to to get celestrial weapon very late into the game as well 180 hrs whew

Attack Reels is the strongest overdrive in this game.
In my opinion, its overpowered.

Hipp777, you can recruit him on the Airship.

Elfen, what about Anima's Oblivion and Mindy's Passado? They have 4 and 3 more hits than a perfect Attack Reels.
