I have never seen a hobo in Wichita or Lawrence, but while on vacation, I guess I've seen a few while driving. I'd probably walk by and hope they don't notice me.

Give them nothing/walk past them (and get cursed at)
Give them a kick (and get cursed at/ get into a fight)
