I need to finda picture editing program.......

I want to use photoshop or something like that to make my own signatures. But the problem is I have been looking around for a free version and when I find one it tells me I have to download winzip, a $30 a month program, can anyone find me a free photo editing program so I can make my own sigs? Don't suggest GIMP because that doesn't work for me. It just shows me a "page not found" when I try to download gimp.

Try the 3.0 alpha of Paint.net; I've heard good things about it.

I wouldn't suggest giving up on GIMP, it can be pretty difficult just to figure out how to install it xD

But paint.net http://www.getpaint.net/download.html You'll have to download the .NET framework if you haven't done that, so you may wish to choose the 40mb download instead of the 3mb ones.

Also, win-zip is nothing that should be paid for. If you use windowsxp, you already have an unzipping utility built into your computer. If you don't, you can download winrar, which handles more files, and while it is demoware, won't hinder you any, just gives a nag screen.

Photoshop costs too much for you. Try Gimp instead, I had absolutely no problems downloading it, and I tried just a few seconds ago.

Gimp won't let me download the ONE mirror I see. And If I go anywhere else on gimp I get a "cannot find server" when I try to download something.

Can't I just get photoshop starter edition?

And for win-zip........everytime I need something that uses it, a little box comes up saying "buy now" or "enter code" and something else. And I DO have windows XP

7zip has more support for various compression formats and doesn't nag you.

Then right click on it and choose "Extract All. . ." rather than opening winzip.

There's about a dozen mirrors that are all pretty trustworthy, as sourceforge wouldn't last long if they weren't.

Yeah I needed one too, but my computer doens't hold any kind of program anymore! Unless it has the same size as Messenger or smth like that!

Well I might as well give up cause my computer always goes back to winzip and when I saved the program somewhere else I couldn't even find it anywhere I looked.

Hmm, I guess sourceforge were having problems, since when I looked yesterday, I couldn't download GIMP either and was only seeing one mirror. But it seems fixed now

As for winzip, uninstall it completely and reboot to get rid of it, otherwise it won't go away

Then install 7-zip as mentioned earlier since it's freeware and doesn't nag like Winrar

Irfanview is pretty small and has some cool features like multiple screen capture, batch reformating,... The editor is weak compared to Paint.net, GIMP and Photoshop but it pwns MS Paint.

i tried to install GIMP but it comes up with an error talkin about hyper threading any one no how to fix this cause i want to try out somethin other than PS

Hmm, I've never installed GIMP on a machine with hyperthreading support, maybe I'll try that out at work tomorrow. Though I don't really see how that can cause an error, it should just sit on one "processor" instead if it doesn't like it
