Just as you can compress mass in a spacial dimension, so too could you theoretically compress it within the temporal dimension.

Time, recall, is merely another dimension by which space/time is measured, and while under most normal circumstances is inalterable, under extreme conditions, it can be alterred, though you really will only notice it if you are able to observe a difference in the passage from one area to the next.

Addendum: And yes, it is revolutionary, at least in the sense that it does nothing but go in circles.
