    Default Tallest Mountain to Climb

Which Final Fantasy do you think the characters had the biggest enemy/opponent/obstacles to face?

Well,(SPOILER)Cecil had a pretty difficult time with Golbez, runnin pretty much everywhere, then had to deal with Zeromus, whose blst dealt 2000 dmg to everyone. Also the fact that the party splits up numerous times and cecil has to come to grips with his own morality, i would say...

    Cecil...obviously

For me it has to be Cloud. I personally think he had a lot to deal with.

I'd definitely have to say Cecil. He had to deal with so many deaths. (even though they weren't exactly permanent) He also had to go against King Baron (who raised him), deal with Kain's Betrayal (his best friend), getting Rosa stolen from him, and he forgave Golbez (the guy who took away Rosa and made Baron Kingdom evil) from all the evil he did. He went through so much tragedies yet that didn't negatively affect his character developement at all. That's why he's my most favourite FF Character.

I agree about the Cecil thing. FF4 isn't my favorite FF, at all, but Cecil's story may be the most intriguing. In my opinion, if they were to make a movie of an FF game, FF4 would be the best story to use. Obviously, I hope they don't because it's a story that can't be told in 2 hours.

Cecil did overcome a lot, considering he didn't know much about himself as a person, and just served the King for a long time. The way he finds himself later fighting against his king, his father of sorts, and then learning about the true fate, it was amazingly assembled.

Plus, I like that Cecil is a rational character about the whole thing. His resolve is pretty solid, unlike many other characters in FF games (like Cloud, Terra and so forth). But even with being rational and fairly sure of himself, he is a deep character.

That's what's cool about him. Square made a deep character that didn't have to go through some stereotypical identity crisis to make him deep. Not that I dislike FF6 or 7 for their stories, at all, but I think that FF4 stands out for that, and many other reasons.

Mt. Gagazet in ffx-2 was definitely the highest mountain.

As for the nonliteral interpretation, Cloud had to get over his entire world being a sham, not being who he thought he was and in a much more excruciating manner than cecil, so I'm thinking him

Damn, someone beat me to the Gagazet joke.

Tidus found out that he didn't actually exist, and that in order to save the world, he would have to take a proverbial sword to the gut.
Second would be Cecil, if for no other reason than he didn't lose it at all. He had to deal with everything without having someone to rely on, since he was the actual leader of his group.
    This is a signature.

Emerald Weapon was easy to me, and I don't even care for Final Fantasy VII. I say Cecil had the tallest mountain, he was regreting everything he did.

    Ramza had it pretty bad.

I mean, he's almost forgotten in history. >_>

But most of the main characters overcame a good deal of hardship.

I didn't think about FFT, I don't like that game as a whole, but yeah, Ramza had it tough, because Delita's the "hero." >_>
