Disgaea doesn't take itself very seriously, and is a pretty funny game. Furthermore, the battle system is very streamlined compared to FFTs battle system. I feel that I get more done with fewer keypresses in Disgaea than in FFT. On the other hand, FFT's storyline is much more serious and mature.
