Typical rock song... the song starts of quietly, then bursts into guitar-rendered dissonance. I didn't like it.
Not a music video per se... the bands I like are too old to have them.

Great song. Typical 70s style music video.

Torturing you with my favorite band. Hawk nelson-The One Thing I have Left

It looks like the ground had a sex change.
Liked the song, but the video was pretty lame.
The Fall Of Troy - F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.

I've never heard of those guys, and I haven't heard that song. It's good stuff, and sounds quite similar to a good friend of mine's writing style. The video concept could use some depth, but it's apt. Just your typical performance video with some weird trick photography. Quite eyecatching. The way the song closes is really neat. I didn't see this ending coming, but I like it.
I'll give it a 9/10.3.
Okay, NEXT
DALER MENDHI, India's most popular Pop act, performing his smash hit, Tunak Tunak Tun! (dai dai dai!) (omg click me)
You have to watch the whole thing in order for it to make sense. Otherwise, it's just confusing gibberish. The song is pretty catchy, honestly. If you listen to the whole thing, you may find yourself mumbling it later that day. You might even do his cool dance moves.
I'm not a fan of Middle Eastern music, sorry! That was pretty bad.
Frank Zappa with a full orchestra!
Im not a big fan of orchestra music, but I liked that one. 6/10, reminded me of something I would hea rin the wonderland lvl of kh1.
It looks like the ground had a sex change.
Another awesome Zappa song, with the original Mothers of Invention.
I'm actually really interested to see what people think of this. It's completely deranged.
Love Zappa, good video. Definetly a strange guy, but a musical genius.
The Mars Volta - L'Via L'Viaquez:
The song is 12 minutes long, so it was drastically cut down for the video.

That was pretty bad. The song and the video. The video did make me laugh a few times though.

Yeah, I suppose someone who listens to such amazing bands as TRUSTcompany or The Fall of Troy can judge what qualifies as good or bad music. :rolleyes2
Just stick to your consumer , kthnx
Actually yeah. Because there is a thing out there called an opinion. And guess what? Everyone's is different.
And IMO The Fall Of Troy >>>>>>>That band you posted. . TFOT has a unique sound. I can't say the same for The Mars Volta.
And consumer? Are you sayin that TFOT and TC are "popular mainstream" and thats why I listen to them? If so, then I laugh at you. Because when TC was still together they were hardly that well known, same goes with TFOT.

Yes, there are things called opinions, but being a blatant asshole like you clearly are doesn't come off well when "expressing your opinion".
Are you smurfing joking? The Mars Volta is 1000 times more original than The Fall of Troy, who sound like another terrible generic band with a bad singer. Go listen to Tetragrammaton by TMV and tell me another band that sounds like them.
They are consumer music. They sound exactly like the crap people would listen to on MTV. Regardless of why you listen to them, it is I who pities you, you who classifies such bands as original and good music.
Anyways, if you'd like to continue this discussion, feel free to PM me. Otherwise, the mods will lecture us.
Because I said I don't like a band I'm an asshole. That's good to know.Originally Posted by GooeyToast

You are so ignorant that it's not even funny. You make claims about TFOT when you have not even heard more than 1 song. Go listen to "I Just Got This Symphony Goin'" and "What Sound Does A Mastodon Make?" by them and then tell me it sounds like an "MTV" band. TFOT will never be on MTV nor do they sound like any of bands on there. And I already know what bands you are comparing them too, Fallout Boy, Taking Back Sunday etc. Bands like that right? lolOriginally Posted by GooeyToast
They are unique because they have different ways of singing their songs. Like I said, listen to other songs and then tell me that they sound like generic MTV music.
Oh and BTW, after reading your first post I went and listened to some songs by TMV on their myspace. And I still stick to my opinion.
Anyway, my video that was skipped.

Guys, arguing about music is stupid. Unless you can pinpoint specific chords and pitches or talk about the utilization of harmony, cossonance, and dissonance and effectively argue how these go against the fundamental aspects of music theory, your opinion really doesn't hold any ground other than "I think they sound good/bad."
And don't play the hipster card. I can name tons of indie bands that make The Mars Volta look like N*SYNC recognition-wise. Who gives a how many and what kind of people a band's fans are? If people like the sound of their music, that's their choice.
As for Avenged Sevenfold, I'm not really into the new age metal, and it seems to follow the same formula that all the other bands of this genre follow. As for the video, it's a pretty good "show off your fans" video. I hate people that get tatoos of bands that they aren't in or have any affiliation with other than liking their sound. I guess I just like tatoos to have more symbolic meaning than just "these guys kick ass!".
I think I'm gonna hit you all with some ska:
