Basically you need to just go for them first. The faster you take the out the better off you are. They slowly drain the power and if it gets below like 50% you start getting attacked by ghosts and things like that and it gets really messy. So yeah, just go straight for the first battery mimic thats draining the power, then after its dead use R2 to FLee and get to the next one as fast as posssible. Killing them also restores the power and as long as you kill them fast you'll be fine.

Backtrack. Buy some stuff from the merchant. And have you potion guy learn potion lore. And, check your gambits. I'd lower the percentage of HP, since you have so few.

If your killing enemies, use cure in between battles. And sell the loot from the battles to get money.

Actually, I found that stealing off the things that spawn when the power goes out (namely da skellies) give lotsa phat lewt. A bone frag sells for 193gil, and 99 of them (takes 'bout 30 mins) for 19107. Just giving you the heads up .

But yeah, you may want to twink your gambits a tad, and run around killing all the battery mimics first before anything else.

    1) Kill stuff.
    2) Run back to the merchant
    3) Sell stuff to make money, get better gear, refill potions, etc.
    4) Save
    5) Repeat

I personally just stuck to cures instead of potions. Gil is a little harder to make this early in the game so cures worked fine. You just might have to spend a little extra time leveling which can't hurt you in the long run.

Set one person as primary healer (Gambit: Ally 70% > Cure) and set everyone else with a lower %. Not sure what all gambits are available but the merchant sells some. Setting all of your characters to using cures or items at the same % just ends up having nobody attacking and puts you at a stalemate in battle.

If you are really really really having trouble in leveling up.
Just stay near to the Save Crystal.
Go out and fight some monsters. (Don't use any items, use magick to heal)
Then come back to Crystal to save and restore your HP and MP.

Start > Return to Title Menu.
Load game and go fight monsters again.

Thats the easier way to level up without using any item.

Oh, also set your entire party to attack the party Leader's target (including the Leader himself). Then, with the leader select the Battry Mimic, and you'll all gang up on it. Even better is to set tehm to cast blizard on Party Leader's target.

Lvl 3 and 4!? Are you doing a low lvl challenge on your first try? Seriously, I was about lvl 7 and I didn't power lvl. I just killed all the monsters on my way during the main quest.

    Default Another Question

I also have a question. (though it's completely unrelated to Reeno's, I just didn't want to start a whole new topic)

Is anyone else having a hard time getting magic shops to sell new magic?
I have been waiting for the 2nd level black magics to appear (by this I mean the -aja spells and up) and I've put in more than 35 hours in the game.
Do I have to do something to make them appear? Like everyone has to have made the square appear for it to become available in shops or what?
