That ominus bazzar item!

For a while now, this grimiore or something has been for sale in the bazzar for 18000 gil. I have that money now, but what the hell is it? the guide says nothing about it. Is it just for reading, or does it give you soemthing?

You receive the Hunter's Monograph. It appears from the descritption that once you purchase this, you receive better loot from mob drops.

Wonder if it's worth it...

(Note: I had to go back a save point (I alternate save slots so i can always back track one) to grab this. I'm currently at (SPOILER)King Raithler's Tomb So I can't really go back...

Let me know if anyone else has experienced good results from this.

I too wondered what it was. I bought it and let me tell you it already paid off. Enemies that where only dropping one item dropped two, items are dropped with much more regularity, and during one chain it got me 6 iron helms.

It's definitely worth it. Buy Grimoires as soon as you can afford them. It'll make getting gil in the future a lot easier. However each Grimoire only gives you better loot from two kinds of species. For instance, the one for 18,000 provides better loot from Beasts and flying cretures.

Yeah monographs are really useful.
(SPOILER)There should be around a total of 6 Monographs for all different enemy types. The way they appear in the bazaar varies, from talking to a certain type of shop owner like over 50 times to reading the Hunt billboard over 40 times etc.

I'm currently just leaving the (SPOILER)JAhara-land of the Garif but the item appeared in the bazaar pretty early on in the game.

You need to do the first monster hunt (SPOILER)You fight some huge mutant wolf, then talk to the guy who employed you at his shop in the bazaar and you'll be able to purchase it. It costs 18,000 Gil.

You killed the thing right? Once you do that talk to him and tell him you killed it go to the bazaar talk to him and he'll tell you he added an item to the bazaar. Go to the nearest shop and you'll see it was added to the bazaar list.
