FFXII makes me tingle. And if it was bad, I'd have put it on the backburner to finish Silmeria.

The game is fine, time wasted thinking about 'what if' is better spent on playing it.
I've read reviews that imply that FFXII is incredibly overrated with bland characters which only serve to progress the plot and a battle system which provides little innovation over FFXI, but nothing to the effect that it's a horrible game.
But I'm sure if you go to www.gamefaq.com you could find some pissed off old school gamer who will rant on to that effect.
