There are platterns, textures and Gradient maps that can make this effect too. You can make it by hand as well using the marquee tool.
I never thought of making Icons, they never work well with me as they do with you Emmy16, so good luck.

I really like the way these look!

I've sorta been wanting some text on my little picture, could you do that for me? Not the colors or anything, because I think she (Eiko) is beautiful as she is, but if it said something like "So far away. . ." or if you came up with something more creative that would be neat too! but if you don't do that, then I apologize for bugging you! I just thought your stuff was so neat.

I turned out ok. Smaller icons are harder to work with. and the picture itself made it a bit difficult
