Ah yes...the good old days of abusing the MissingNo glitch...
Pokemon Yellow didn't let you do the cheat codes from Red and Blue and that's why I dislike it and the future Pokemon games.

Missing No never messed up my game, I think it will only mess up your game if you catch it. the 2 codes go I believe fly to the red Island(it's been so long I don't remember the name) swim up and down the cost until you find Missing no, I think then you run away and when you check your inventory your 6th item will go to x99 there's also another one for the Safari.

Actually it depends on what you name your character. It's really wierd that way. But it will always mess up your Pokemon League, and can do a lot of other stuff including permanently corrupt the cart if you have your name a certain way. I forget how though, but I read about it in a few FAQs (as a programmer, I wanted to know how it works).
Remember how the "Get Mew" thing was like the Aeris Revival? It supposedly was all a lie?
My friend got Mew, without cheating. It is possible. He did it on Red version, but you need to be very precise. Theres certain people you can't fight until a certain point and so on. Ask Bakerman.
I know how to do that.
To do it, you must first go to the Underground Passage on the Lavender Town Side. Save your game right in front of the door. Walk one step forward, and pause immediately. Then Fly to Cerulean City. If you do it right, the Gambler below you (one of the two people you can't fight), will spot you, but you will fly away before he gets a chance to fight you.
After that, your pause menu will be disabled. Walk up to Route 24, and find the youth trainer that has only a Slowpoke. Make sure you walk so he has to walk up to you to challenge you, or else the game will freeze. Beat him, and then make your way down through the gate to Saffron City from Cerulean City.
From there, (for me, anyway), walk to the gate that leads to Lavender Town out of Saffron City. As you approach the gate, your menu will automatically pop up. Exit out of it, and you'll get into a fight with a Level 7 Mew.
