PS3: It has a PS2 inside! (Old news that's new again)

Can people stop assuming the first generation PS3's will crap up right out of the box. The PS2's problems rolled down to 1 or 2 components, out of hundreds Sony successfully made reliable. The fact that every small feature the PS3 has people instantly say it will break, with no evidence to back that up, of course. I dont expect any better though, as this forum is obviously swarmed with Nintendo fanboys.

First-gen of EVERYTHING is normally unstable and prone to malfunction, this is not something only common to Sony, it's just with the mainstream nature of Sony products that such malfunctions are publicised.

I guarantee you we will see PS3s overheating day one. It's inevitable. They produce a lot of heat and you know all those nerds live in their parent's basement.

Like I've said before, I'll assume launch Sony consoles and handhelds are going to suck for the same reason I'm going to assume the tides will continue to turn. They always have in the past.

That's pretty dumb, you should know that the tides will continue to turn because of sciencey moon stuff. And handhelds? If you're creating a pattern based on one instance(or two ;)) you need to re-evaluate why you really think that!
I mean, my PS2 gave out on me too. Mostly my fault, but I wasn't that mad at Sony. If I was I would've went out and got an xbox instead of spending a whopping $50 to get it fixed.

Well, if it was your fault, you have no right to be mad any anyone. I, however, take great care of every console I own, and if that's not enough, I get annoyed. I didn't get a PS2 at launch just because I didn't want one. I know three people who did, though, and they've all had their own problems. One of them treats his games and consoles like they're made of glass and his still conked out on him. Like it or not, the reality is that first model Sony video game hardware (better?) has a terrible track record. With three misses out of three attempts, it's a safe bet that attempt number four is going to be a miss as well.

Thats okay, I am sure Sony will happily replace the blown up PlayStations for their customers

PlayStation 3 is gonna be the most wanted console in 2007.

The PlayStation 3 will still be one of the biggest selling consoles on the planet. The Brand is far too strong.

I've been saving. I have $430 Canadian, and once the PS3's have escaped the problems of launch in a couple of months, I'll have enough.
