I tried the American version of FFIV for SNES (FF"2"), and Cure4 not only heals Zeromus for quite a lot of HP, but it also makes him counter-attack by hitting your characters with Nuke (Flare), which certainly doesn't heal you.
He's not an evil giant bug thing for nothing I guess. <.<
