is it just me or do we get these question every other day? Press the button next to the name when it appears. If no button is shown, press r2 until it appears.

If you've laready used your Quickening, tehre's a chance it can reappear if you press the right button next to whoever's name comes up in white with the words "Mist Charge". Then almost immediately hit that same button again because that person's Quickening name will appear and you can then chain their QWuickening, and so on. Always go for the Mist Charge option though.

Quickenings suck unless you get lucky and have good reflexes. I got a chain of 10 once, and it ended with Cataclysm.

If you have a character out who has a quickening, he/she can use it regardless of MP if you link them. For example:
Basch, Vaan, Ashe and Penelo have full MP and one quickening each.
First, only Basch is out. Use his quickening. Then switch in Vaan and use his. You'll be able to link to Basch too. Then put Ashe in, too and use hers. You can link to Vaan and basch too.

Later on in the game you can get 16+ quickening chains.

    1. I would advise that when you first get Quickenings, you save your game by some mobs and try to put together some chains. Running out of MP isn't a problem this way, because it is easy to refresh on the save crystal. Quickening chains are important, so it is good to get used to them before that big boss battle.

    2. I have only two characters who are totally dependant on MP, and the rest are hybrids. Sometimes I will start a battle with all my melee guys out to use their Quickenings, then sub in a healer and get to business as usual. Point is, if you give your party well-defined roles, you can have your tanks and dps blow their mp without worrying too much, because your casters are in reserve.
