And whoever said guns aren't very useful is wrong, since they ignore defense

What's with all the gun hate. I know their attack power is lower, but with the ignore defense bit they end up doing the same as the rest. And they're slower than bows, but they have 100% accuracy.

Anyway, I like them both, but Balthier is definitely the winner of this situation.

Yeah true, they are helpful in certain situation, but it's not my preference for a Final Fantasy weapon I guess. I'm a swords/katanas/daggers kinda guy.

FFVII: DoC urked me a bit because all I could use was the gun, but hey, it was only one game, so I survived, and enjoyed it.

i dont use either

my main party is Ashe(with a sword/sheild) Vaan(with either a spear or a Greatsword) and then Penelo(with a pole or a ninja sword)

and Vaan and penelo use all magick and Ashe knows White Magick and all Augments while the other 2 are just heading into the augments

although there for a while i was training my other 3 people and Baltheir with a Spear and Basch with Sword and Sheild was pretty amazing...i just find fran's stats to be very low

I haven't used Balthier since I had to, I don't think. And I'm not really sure why. I much prefer him as a character. At some point I started using Vaan, Fran, and Basch, and then I would've had to level Balthier up to include him in my party and have him be worthwhile, and I just didn't feel like doing that. If I thought there was any reason using one or the other in my party would somehow affect their presence in the cutscenes, I'd drop Basch and use Balthier in a second.

I've been using Basch and not using Balthier. Even though Balthier is my favorite character in the story so far. I don't know why it ended up like that.

In my playthrough, Basch and Balthier had the most HP in the party. I used both characters.

i personally like basch better. my main party is vaan with a sword and shield, ashe with ninja swords, and basch with axes.

I prefer basch to balthier just because i don't like balthier's fighting style. Basch seemed cooler.

Balthier, but i still use Bashe a little bit...he's kinda my first choice in backup. I think balthier is just cooler in personality so i use him more.

I've been leveling up everyone pretty equally, but Basch and Balthier are in my 'core' group. Along with Fran. I love both of them, for different reasons.
