Need advice with Rocktoise hunt

So I've had trouble defeating the Rocktoise in the Lhusu Mines. Anyone have any good tips on how to handle him? How did you kill him?

A good time to do this hunt would be (SPOILER)when you are leaving the Ozmone Plains and have Larsa in your party. The Brady guide says the Rocktoise is level 16, so if your party is in the mid-20's you should be ok. You might even want to wait until after (SPOILER)the Henne Mines, I don't know. The guide also says to use ranged weapons on him, but I just had Vaan and Basch on melee while Fran and the guest healed. It was a tough battle, but just work on his hp and give him a Quickening chain when he gets down to around 20% and you should be fine.

you should be able to take him if you use all your quickenings. Maybe after you get Belias, if you still have trouble. I beat him at lvl 14, so just bring a couple phoenix downs.

Yeah, I beat him before going to Giza Plains. Quickenings rock. ^_^
