I live in the UK so i haven't had a chance to check out the game. For me, it is the music that truly invokes fond memories of places and moments in each FF game. I know that Nobuo Uematsu isn't working on this game, but what is the new composer really like.

I love walking through an area and being able to hum the tune and letting it create new memories. However, I've heard that the music is just background music. Is this true? I can understand that it may fit well with the scene but is the score truly memorable?

The music in general isn't like some of the past FF's, fast paced at times, and easily memorable. But still FFXII had some great music I thought. Even incorporated a couple of past FF songs a little bit into the game. And quite a few of the songs have an FF feel like normal songs, especially an FF:Tactics feel too.

Personally I don't think it's as bad as some people made it out to be. The Empire and Judge themese were especially pretty catchy I thought. ^^
