Ok, so I bombarded him with Quickenings, got his HP to zero, an then... he didn't die. There was a message about him on the top of the screen, but I was distracted because he was raping me. So what's the trick to this?

A lot of bosses/monsters put up a shield when they get to half, critical, or even full health. It makes them immune to physical or magickal damage, or both. I'm not sure if Adrammelech is one of these, but if he is, it will dissipate shortly.

I guess he had, like, two HP left (that I couldn't see on the meter) and put up that shield (which is why my next quickening chain didn't finish him off).
Well, I just went back and tried again and managed to kill him. Then I summoned him to see what he was like and he died immediately.
Where's your shield now, sucker?

His level depends on your level, if your level are low, then his level will be low too.

yea true...but he's a tough esper you know...just level up..and his "overdrive" or whatever they call it in FFXII really rockz...:rolleyes2
