Yes but that was because my post was slightly off-topic from the main discussion and the other posters were busy having an argument

It is probably not you. You shouldn't take this kind of thing personally, it almost never is. If no one is replying, maybe they just didn't really have anything interesting to add. Would you rather people reply because threads look lonely but their post containing spam? Or would you rather people saying something relevant?

As for intopic replying/quoting, unless it's a debate of some sort, people would only be posting about their own experience with the topic.

Yeah, I think you generally have to view your posts as set ups for the next poster.
If their ideas aren't jokes that fit your original post, or if they're not thinking in line with you and can't complete your post, so to speak, then they have no real choice but to bypass your answer and post their own thing.
