They're really easy. Level zero.
Just try fighting it as soon as it becomes available. If you can't beat it, level up until you feel you've become significantly stronger and try again. The Cluck is level 15, so try when you are 20.
I took pretty easy care of it with my levels around 18-21... I think it was right after I got back from Bhujerba.
