Given you have no black mage with you at the time of this fight, it can take a little longer but basically....

Lower the battle speed to the slowest possible for easiest fight here, and have your White Mage cure whoever needs it, while the rest attack when the defense of the boss is down. Have the newly acquired person JUMP to get rid of the defense.
