Thread: Tips on beating Adel?

    Default Tips on beating Adel?

Can anyone help me on beating Adel? I'm only about level 35 and don't hit too well with normal attacks. I have to be careful with my GF's so as not to hurt Rinoa too much, however I have never caused her death by doing so. My main problems are Adel's Meteor and Ultima attacks. Silence never works on her and she constantly uses Rinoa to replenish her health. I use Regen on Rinoa as well as Curaga, and sometimes I have to use GF's on both Adel and Rinoa just to waste away some of Adel's health. Like I said before, I have never killed Rinoa using these GF's, she seemed to be okay if I cure her right after (and Rinoa's life is supposed to be the main difficulty of this battle--not for me though). Mainly it's that I can't do too much damage on Adel and she kills me with her powerful spells after a while. If anyone can help with some useful magic spells to do, some enemies I can fight in Lunatic Pandora that will give a lot of EXP, or to just tell me to start over in case I'm wasting my time (!) it will be much appreciated.

It seems to me that you heavily rely on GF's as your main source of attack. When i first bought the game that's the way i played it (such a young kid ), and had trouble defeating Adel too.

At the start of battle cast Shell & Haste on your party, Aura on Squall, & Regen on Rinoa. Count on your limit break's as your main source of attack, Squall's renzokuken the most notable, and just keep slugging away at her. Have one member of your team whose job is too solely heal (or if you really have trouble, have 2). Rearange the junctioning of Leviathan to the person who will be the healer to use Recover on your party (that's if you have the GF of course, Alexander also, for Revive). The battle should be won with that.

PS: Remember to Mug Adel to get a Samantha Soul.

Make sure Regen is on Rinoa at all times.

You should be able to heal through Ultima and Meteor, try using Selphie's Limit Break if you get in to much of a bad time.

junction strong magic to each characters basic attack and kill her before she can cast any spells

Cast Regen on Rinoa, then possibly Meltdown on Adel and Aura on either Squall or Zell. If Squall only has limit breaks that hit a single target, use his Renzokuken freely. Otherwise there's a chance of him finishing up with a move that will hit all the targets, killing Rinoa. Zell should use his Armageddon Fist limit break, which means you're basically just repeating two of the fastest moves you can select (usually Punch Rush and Booya, I guess).

I casted Regen on Rinoa and then Haste and Aura on Squall. Two or three turns of Renzokuken with each turn at around 4,000-5,000 damage at each hit killed Adel quickly. Thankfully he only did one of his special moves at the end which hurt Rinoa but not enough to kill her.

Regen on Rinoa. Squall + Zell and Irvine should do the trick. (Dont use explosive ammos tough...)

My advice would be to not touch the GFs. It's extremely counterproductive. If you can junction Haste to Squall's speed then 100 Haste = Auto-Haste. If you cast Haste and Regen on Rinoa then she heals faster.

Also, if you level up then enemies and bosses level up too. If you're stuck then I'd recommend finding enemies with good spells, drawing off tons of spells and running. Ultima can also be bought from Shumi village and it rules for junctioning.
