Can Gau learn it in the (SPOILER)World of Ruin? I've looked around a lot but I haven't come across any Stray Cats. If they're still there, are they in any particular area?
Did you kill a Stray Cat elsewhere?
Maybe you should go kill another one (I'm not sure where they are) just to be sure. :P
I believe that they are Avarice-ness's pets gone wild...that would mean she had a lot of cats...

The only place to fight them is either the Veldt or in the WoB in the begining of Sabins scenario.

And yes, you can learn Catscratch and it's actually really powerful. It's probably the rage that I use most, since I can count on it to do Catscratch, and Stray Cat is kind of near the top of the list.

Um, I always restart an FF game if I miss ONE item, magic or piece of equipment.
In other words, I always clear all Rages in this game.
I think Stray Cats are only found in the WoB.
I remember checking the enemy locations, and, IIRC, the only enemies appearing in WoB and WoR are the enemies in Zozo.
Why use catscratch when you can get Io's flare star or just use ultima from Brachiosaur or whoever it is in the dino forest
Catscratch is more useful in the earlier parts of the game, when you don't have Io's rage, or Brachiosaur's.
I know I like dealing 1,400 or more damage with my level 14 Gau. Also see: Brawler's rage.
ya ok makes sense i like pteradon or rhinox early with stray cat.
Ghost and Brawler are nice too.
People use Gau?
