I'm not sure if that's actually improper grammar, but it still sounds akward when read aloud.
The most obvious thing in FF2 for the SNES was the ridiculous abuse of punctuation. They'd have something like "Captain! Look at this! Monster!" That's not a quote from the game, but it's the idea.
I loved FF2 and the translation that kinda sucked. It was the first FF I ever played seriously and I will always appreciate that it led me to FF3/6j and ultimately FFT, which has become my favorite game of all time.
