~Spoilers~ Vector Castle Point Rewards

At some point in the game you go to Vector Castle. (SPOILER)Kefka is locked up and you earn points by talking to guards before dinner, the answers you give during dinner, the number of guards you fight, etc.

My question is what is generally considered the best reward to aim for?

Do you miss anything by (SPOILER)not having the soldiers removed from Doma Castle or Figaro?

Is the cache of equipment in the base the best goal?

How about the item that deals with random encounters?

I've been scratching my head about this for awhile and I can't decide on how to proceed in the game.

When you get enough points to earn another reward, you still get the ones that you earn with fewer points. Basically if you get enough points you'll get all of the rewards so don't worry about missing anything. Just focus on maximizing your point total.
