k topic: several (three) of nobuo's songs pretty much sound like christmas carols.
1) to zanarkand has that "silent night" in it "sparks from the fire rise up to the sky"
2) the song that plays when tidus is stuck in baaj temple is pretty much greensleeves/What Child is This
3) rose of may is a lot like come rest ye merry gentlemen.
Thoughts? Overexaggerations?
1) I never noticed that one but its only 4 notes
2) That's freaky, and i didnt know greensleeves was a Christmas carol.
edit: Wikipedia has now shown me otherwise
3) I have never heard of either of those songs

I think you're overexaggerating
Greensleeves was my favorite x-mas song to play in HS. All of the other ones we had to play for old people homes were lame.
And I don't hear anything christmas-y from any ff songs, I think you're delusional.

It starts about 1/3 the way in in Hopeless Desire. And it's pretty much Greensleeves barring like two notes in the middle
okay, I totally didnt' call it on rose of may/loss of me, it's just that there's a part that sounds like the refrain of greensleeves xD
1) I think I hear a bit of it, but it is only very short.
2) Yeah, after learning what Greensleeves should sound like from that midi (and going to about 1/3) I kinda agree, it does have a bit of that in there.
3) I really don't hear this at all, but then I don't think I really know what come rest all ye merry gentlemen sounds like

2) Do you mean 'No dream, no hope'? I remember thinking that some parts of this were similar to greensleeves. - about 35 secs in.

On recap, by checking through my FF midis, Ive found that 'No dream, no hope' and 'Hopeless desire' are the same.
"Hopeless Desire" is thrilling. Great song, and it is very suiting
for that part of FFX. I don't connect it with Christmas, though.
