Depends what kind of games you like, what kind of TV you have, etc. Like shooters? Like playing against other people online? Have friends with 360s? If the answer to those questions is a yes, then go for a 360 and wait until more quality games, such as Smash Bros. Brawl, come out for the Wii. Also, if you have an HDTV, finding component cables for the Wii will be pretty difficult this holiday season. Maybe more difficult than getting a console itself. Honestly, I'm not that interesting in paying out 5 or 10 bucks for old games I can emulate, but if you are, you might be more interested in the Wii. The Xbox Live Arcade has some old games for download that are pretty fun, as well, but with the advantage of being playable online, such as Smash TV. The 360 is a pretty good system, so if you want to wait until the Wii is more readily available and has some better titles, go for it.

If you have a Wi-Fi USB Connector from Nintendo, then you can use whatever internet connection your computer uses for your Wii. It's wireless, so assuming your PC wouldn't be too far away from your Wii, you should be able to use it without much confusion.
As for games worth buying on the Wii, I only have Wii Sports and Zelda: Twilight Princess at the time, so I cannot say much in that area. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz certainly does look appealing, though, and not because of the monkey balls.

I love my 360. There is already a wealth of quality games out for it, such as Dead Rising (Worth the admission price alone IMO), Hitman: Blood Money, GRAW, Oblivion, Perfect Dark Zero, and Gears of War. Anyone who can resist a line-up like that better have a darn fine alternative; I do not think the Wii yet qualifies as such. Also there is little chance of a 360 shortage, it has a startlingly good online gaming system, and it's old enough to ensure most technical difficulties are resolved.
(By most accounts Red Steel is pretty average. An overhyped gimmick? In this industry? Nowai! :o )
Edit: And Alan Wake is on the way. Plz fine something more awesome looking on the Wii.

Don't listen to mindless opinions.
It's all up to you. First off the Wii will be much harder to find come Christmas time. You'll probably have to wait for quite a while or be extremely lucky to pick one up.
The 360 on the other hand has a great library already and should be really easy to find. Just because it came out last year doesn't mean it's not next gen.
If I were you, I would pick up the 360 first and then get a Wii later on when more games are released on it.

If you do get a Wii, I'd recommend picking up the following titles.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Excite Truck
Red Steel
