Right click your desktop, go to Properties, then Desktop, and then change the Position box to "stretch".
See if that changes anything.
That was my first thought, but properties brings up the properties of the pick. And if I open it via control panel, its set to stretch.
EDIT: No idea how they got there, but now they are gone too, what the hell.
