Default Project Chaos: Sonic 3 & Knuckles remixes

The site (which features downloads of all of the songs) is here. More conveniently, there is a torrent for the whole three-album set here. The album art is here.

I listened to the whole thing and I really enjoyed it. Obviously, fans of the game(s?) are going to enjoy it more, but hey, who hasn't played Sonic 3?

EDIT: Oh, come on. A lot of people worked really hard on this. Give it a listen.

The above poster is a thread assassin.

Anyway, Red Sphere/Blue Sphere is an awesome song.
    My favorites are:
    Divided from Grace
    That Freezing Feeling
    Beneath the Ashes
    The Secluded Stronghold
    Breathtaking Vision
    Red Sphere, Blue Sphere
    Groove Basin [WIP]
    Stranger to Closure [WIP]
    Ice Cap 4 Life [WIP]
Leave some shards under the belly
Lay some grease inside my hand
    It's a sentimental jury
And the makings of a good plan

Are these remixes actual faithful renditions of the game's songs using superior instrumentation, or have they been completely cannibalized and transformed into boring piano jazz pieces that bear little or no resemblance to the original compositions? Because I find that most game music remixes are the latter.

A couple of the songs have been ruined (the Mushroom Hill theme comes to mind) but most of them are pretty faithful. Take a listen to Walk on Water, a remix of the Hydro City theme, and my favourite of the bunch.

I listened to a few songs, and some were pretty all right. But I think I still prefer the original MD synth.
