Hell, yeah! It's not the best, but it's a pretty good game! Get it!
Vote in my EoFF Popularity Poll for every game and character in the series thus far: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8N6VZ98!
Does anyone really need anything?
No, but FFXII is at least worth $50 based on amount of content alone.
Yeah, I would say it is very much worth it, especially if you like sidequests and optional bosses, things like that. I don't think the story is very strong, but there is more than enough quality content to make it worth a playthrough.
If your a person that cannot and i mean cannot play a game with a boring storyline this game isn't for u, but still this game is really worth it based on the gameplay.
the story is awsome too.everyone is dissing ffXll becuse of its storyline, but the fact is,its awsome.to awsome for them to comprehend it.OK so its not as good as Vll or X or tactics but its still owns.wach the trailer for it at www.finalfantasyxii.com. click on media and itl be there.they make it look so sweet.
(SPOILER)waha made you highlight
much agreed rem., this is a awsome final fantasy, i love it its by-far my new favorite ff. I love the graphics, love the bright colorfull enviroments, i loved how they did the citys n stuff( they give you more of a.....oh how shall i say a more 'real life' feeling?) Love the summoning system, i LOVE the fighting system an the un godly amount of diffrent weapons you can get ur chars to use is another big plus. I say its completly worth the 50 bucks. Now i dont reall think buying the collectors editcion is worth but then agian thats jus my opinion.
im to cool for sigs.![]()
Cool, I'll get it then XD

That has the be the dumbest few sentences I've ever read. I doubt its because they "can't comprehend" the story, because it is at its core a pretty basic storyline, especially for a Final Fantasy title. However a lot of people like it, and a lot of people don't. Everyone has their own opinion. It's bad points aside it is still a very above average RPG, and well worth the $50 for the standard edition.
"Reality isn't so kind. Everything doesn't work out the way you want it to. That's why... As long as you don’t get your hopes up, you can take anything... You feel less pain."
I dont' like the storyline at all, I can comprehend it, it's just not in depth like so many of the others have been, BUT I still would highly recommend this game purely for the gameplay. I'm about 135hrs in about to get the last esper and hunt, and well basically I wouldn't have spent so much time on something I didn't highly enjoy. Like Dragon Quest VIII, got to the end and was so bored I stopped playing.
Searching For everything already there For every thought already known For everything that ever was, is, and will be Struggling Oh how we struggle And the more we avoid it The greater the struggle becomes Until we realize That struggle is a blessing Progressing Changing Evolving Growing From a seed to a tree From a child to a (wo)man From a (wo)man to a spirit To a god fulfilling his plan Purpose No words can describe the unmeaning No beginning No end Just always now Marvelling at the miracleAnd all of a sudden It all seemed to make sense somehow Searching For everything already there For every thought already known For everything that ever was, is, and will be
depends on what your favorite FF is and why you play the games. In terms of infrastructure and aesthetics, its clearly head and shoulders above the rest. The combat system is arguably the best and most innovative (think Knights of the Old Republic on steroids) and the voice acting, especially compared to X and X-2 is not only tolerable but actually quite good.
Here's why you may not want the game.
The music is bland and doesn't have the personality of earlier titles, despite the fact that the sound quality is as good as it gets. There really isn't any character development to speak of. Obviously you learn a little about each character during the game, but I don't think you can honestly say that anyone changes a huge amount or that you could really get attached to any of them.
The plot is good, and certainly a welcomed departure from other titles, but the fact of the matter is there really isn't that much there. There aren't nearly as many elements and interest groups in play as other FFs, and for the amount of fighting/traveling you do, there isn't much of a story being told.
All that said, the game does have a vaguely Old School quality to its tone, despite being beyond new school in terms of format, which was one of the things I particularly enjoyed. And if what you really want is more of an adventure game, this is for you.
yeah, now I've made up my mind, I'm gettin it ^^

As much as I complain about this game, I'm measuring it against *my* FF standards. Even as a "FFXII basher" I would recommend it.
Its a really fun game but the story line could be better
"Kataclism This is the life we chose the life we lead and there is only one garentee none of us will see heaven"
