    Default My entirely plausible theory

    Tifa placed them on her long ago for they reject the effects of phoenix downs. She did it in hopes one day Aerith would croak and she could keep Cloud to herself. Tifa is a very conniving woman like that.

    Aerith's Lifestream arm is devoid of them because she's naked with Zack in the lifestream. Okay, not really, but she's just a mind. It's not likely her accessories carried with her unless she thinks about them being on her, and given her objective was trying to lead Cloud back to Tifa and the real world, I doubt they were on her mind.
