I have two I'll mention.

My favorite band has to be The Pillows. I was first introduced to them through FLCL quite a few years ago (watched a fansub).

The scene in the second episode where Canti is exploring the old school house while Mimi follows him has this beautiful garage band song called "Hybrid Rainbow". It was the first time I ever listened to them and I instantly fell in love. That entire scene with the song is just haunting and beautiful.

My next favorite is a singer, now I like the Boss (I love "Streets of Philidelphia") but my favorite still has to be Billy Joel. Growing up in a house that only played old country, Billy Joel was my first introduction to Rock n' Roll. I was eight at the time and my mother bought his Greatest Hits collection so she could listen to "Uptown Girl".

I listened to that album almost everyday for two years. While other kids were talking about Guns n' Roses and before even Nirvana hit the airwaves, I was humming "Piano Man" or singing "Movin Out". He still is one of my favorite musicians even after all these years. I can still sing along to every song on his Greatest Hits album.
