Thread: A Funny Thing Happened

    Default A Funny Thing Happened

I was Inside Sin when a Great Malboro appeared. I didn't want it to get a chance to use Bad Breath so I used Delay Buster. It worked, but The malboro came up, ate Tidus, then spit him back out with this yellow stuff. Tidus took no damage (I think) and I saw no status effects so what was this about?

    It was just funny...

It's just a counter attack Great Marlboro uses when that attack is used on him, it doesn't do anything other than normal damage. Using Delay Buster is actually a good strategy for defeating Marlboro's.

Malboro never split my Tidus out though.

That's it's normal counterattack move. I prefer First Strike + Provoke over Delay Buster, especially in the Omega Ruins where they ambush the party.

It's a "counter delay." Every time it happens, the character who is eaten gets pushed back a couple of turns.
