Wait, gameplay-wise I can think of a few minor things:
-The Mythril Sword (SILVER in the NES version) is not available in Elfland

I know that's true for DoS, but does it also apply to Origins?

Seems so. It's a shame really, that sword was a lot of fun. Now you don't get it until Crescent Lake.
