    Default DS/DS Lite Maintenance

Hello wonderful ladies and gents, I pose a simple question.

How do you protect your DS?

Are you the overprotective type with 14 cases, an inch of protection for the touch screen, temperature controlled game room, etc.

Or are you the complete opposite who hurls thier DS against the wall whenever the desire strikes, spills food and drink on thier DS, and sends it through the laundrey?

I want to know, because i recently got my DS Lite(a few months) and its starting to smudge up and have a little wear on it, and i do so like to keep it clean and functioning for many years to come!

I've done no damage prevention methods on my Lite since launch. No scratches on the bottom screen due to overzealous Electroplanktoning, no dings, dents, or scratches.

    It could probably deflect bullets.

    I have one of these

    http://www.hori.jp/products/dsl/dsl_...uch/index.html

It fits around it snugly, and the material on the inside actually wipes it clean when you put it in/take it out. I dont' use it much really, cuz the pouch itself doesnt' fit in my pocket, but if i'm carrying it in my bag or something I stick in there. My Navy Blue DS lite comes out spic-n-span.

They had a limited selection of cases at Best Buy so I'd rather have one like JKTrix has, but I have a decent case for it nonetheless. Need one with more room for games though since I have something like 10 games and am getting several more for Xmas.

I've had my DS for about a year and a half now, and am proud to report it is built like a Game Boy. I'm not sure if you could put it through the wash, let it dry it out completely, pop a game in it, turn it on, and have it still WORK like a Game Boy, but I don't particularly care to find out.

My DS is my favorite system hands down. I don't plan to let horrible things happen to it.

For the pouch I have, you can get it from here: http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-...j-70-1by0.html

For game storage, I use these:
This one holds 2 carts and is small enough to fit in the pocket (or the pouch) with the DS. This is where I keep the games that are currently in the heaviest rotation. Right now, that's Elite Beat Agents, Castlevania and Jump! Ultimate Stars. The last game is in my DS right now.
For the few extras that are not quite in my 'top tier', but still played fairly frequently, I have them in this case here. Holds 6 DS games, plus 2 GBA carts. I was holding the DS vibration cart in there until recently, when I got the DS lite vibration cart :P. The 2 GBA carts I have in there are Rhythm Tengoku and the GBA expansion cart to Daigasso! Band Brothers.

For the rest of my games that I don't play as much, but are mostly multiplayer games (Bomberman, mario kart, advance wars, etc) I have them all stuffed into an old camera case

If you happen to spend over $60 on that Play-Asia site (hint: Buy Jump Ultimate Stars) before the end of the year PM me before you confirm the order and I'll send you a coupon code you can use to take $10 off the total if I'm online.

In between. I bought a case but then got a better one from Nintendo Magazine. It seems to be fine. I never take it anywhere though XD

I clean the screen with glasses cleaning clothes and it works really well!!

I have the case that JKTrix mentioned, but I stopped using it after I got a case that I like more from Target. It's much smaller and it can hold six games (in two 3-game hard plastic protective cases) and fit into my pocket unlike the other one. Originally the one I use now had this annoying plastic lining on the inside that you could slip the bottom half of your DS Lite into, but I cut that out and it's 100% better.

I have had my original DS since they first came out and I don't protect or carry it in a case...It works perfectly fine, touch screen is still the same and everything. I throw it on the floor every night because I dont have a nightstand or any kind of dresser near my bed, so I just toss it on the floor when Im done playing before bed....

Although I have noticed that on the top screen, every once and a while one little pixel will always be a light bluish, i use to think it was part of the games. But if you turn it off and turn it back on it usually goes away. Maybe I should stop throwing it....
If I were a Final Fantasy Boss, I would be named something cool like Super-Ultra-Foxtrot-Omega Weapon or something cool like that...
