Why would they? Really if you think about it logically, why would a monster you just killed give you the power to summon them at will to do your bidding? And if its not the ones you killed, then why would they have a scroll or whatever to summon more of their kind since they ARE one of their kind? And they could just form into parties if they want multiple fighters.

He channels all the darkness in the world into his sword and unleashes it on people who are afraid of the dark. That might explain why it is always day time in the game, except for a few cutscenes where Cecil decided to spare the citizens of the world and let them sleep.
