The blame for the terrible new cut scenes belongs with Ryuhei Kitamura, a Japanese director who is known for injecting his films with all manner of insane, off-the-wall actiontime. Unfortunate, his style clashes terribly with that of MGS.

As for the graphics themselves, I think they're actually worse than those of the original version, which employs such clever texturing that the remake looks sterile in comparison. It also doesn't help that the characters all look like plastic dolls. The only real plus is that they no longer have to bob their heads around in order to imply speech.

New points: Various lines within the script were altered for the worse and for no real reason, and the soundtrack went from a haunting cinematic score to a lot of droning electronic dreck. Boo.

No way. If you're going to play a version of MGS, the Twin Snakes version is definitely the way to go.
Manus has it right. TTS is kind of a bastardization on all sides.
