Anyone else think Snape is NOT a bad guy?

I was always struck by Dumbledore's implicit trust in Snape despite any amazing amount of evidence to the contrary. There must be something very deep indeed that made Dumbledore trust Snape so much that perhaps we've yet to uncover.
As for Snape killing Dumbledore, I think Dumbledore knew his fate before he even left with Harry. He was probably aware that he would most likely have to die. When he returned it would be no big deal for Malfoy to kill him and no big deal for Snape to have sworn to help Malfoy. Dumbledore didn't say anything like "Please don't kill me Snape." He was particularly vague. It was more as though he was begging Snape to do what they'd already discussed, which was kill him in his suffering upon returning. He keeps begging to be taken specifically to Snape. We assume it's for the cure, though I don't think that's the case.
As I recall, Snape gritted his teeth or something similar. I don't think this was a sign of rage and happiness in killing Dumbledore. I think it was a sign of how difficult it was for him to actually do it.
Snape obviously bears some bitterness toward Harry's father and takes that out on Harry. However, remember that Snape did protect Harry at the Quiddich match in the first book. I think Snape is written to seem absolutely evil and to make us hate him so much that the revelation will actually blow us away. I would not be entirely suprised if Snape died protecting Harry in the end.

And I like the name Deathly hallows, cause didnt Harry say he was going to go home, to were he used to live with his parents. Which was called Hollow somethin. So theres already afew deaths there and Harry will probably kill some death-eaters there, so....its a great name.
