For an old school FF fan, is III a must own?

If you're an old-school FF fan and you have a DS, I'd say FFIII DS is definitely worth getting. However, if you don't own a DS console, I'm not sure. I'm interested in the game myself, but I don't have a DS, so I'll need to think what I'll do about getting the game.

FF CC RoF, FF XII: RW, (the GBA ports), FFTA2 and maybe DQ IX if you like DQ are some other reasons as to why a DS is an interesting buy for (RPG) fans. It's a handheld well worth the money, IMHO. But oh well, so many things are worth buying.
