Is your pinky raised? Why or why not? If so, then do you find anything wrong with it being raised? If not, then is it because you are making the conscious decision not to raise it?

I don't usually raise my pinky, but I do hold it out extended away from the rest of my fingers. Only when drinking tea (which is about 12 hours per day) though, since tea makes me so joyous that my pinky simply can't stand not standing up proudly.

I've never raised my pinky when I drink. I have all of my fingers gripping onto my coffee mug.

If I'm drinking from a cup, no, it isn't. Although, if I drink from a can or bottle, I get fancy and raise it out of habit for some reason !?

Right hand, yes.

Probably got something to do with hand dominance and how strongly I needed to hold something with all of my fingers, as opposed to how weakly I should hold it in my dominant hand. I don't have a problem with it.

hmm my pinky on my left hand tends to curl under the base of the container, so if it's a glass my finger is on the bottom. with my right hand my pinky stands up.

If I drink from a cup or a can, it's raised.
But when it's like, 12 Oz bottle, I keep a firm grip.
That's probably because my rotten friends are always stealing my vegetable juice.

Mine is always raised...When I'm typing, when I'm drinking, when I'm using a fork or spoon or chopsticks...

I guess it's a natural sign of etiquette?

I grip with all my fingers. I always thought that it looked more manly that way. Plus, you never know when those glasses are going to slip from your grasp. And the amount of strength in my pinky will... not make any difference at all.

Mine is up! Pinky Up! I never noticed tha before pretty cool.

Actually when I'm just holding it as I noticed through further investigation is my pinky is slightly touching the glass but when I'm drinking it's almost always is up.

I'm sure if i picked up a mug my Pinky would be gripping it.

Oh, and I would like to thank you! By walking over and getting a glass of milk I was forced to open the refrigerater and I found a pudding! I love pudding and I wouldn't have opened up the frig if it weren't for this thread. So YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep. It's raised. Not really suprising- I don't use my pinky for much anyways. I usually don't even use it while typing.
