So now that 2006 has pretty much come to a close. What did you guys think of it in terms of gaming? Was it a good year for video games, or could it have been better?

In my opinion, I think it was a great year overall.

    -2 systems got released.
-Final Fantasy XII finally saw it's U.S. release
    -New Zelda
    -Good amound of original games.

    And so much more.

It was a pretty steady year for gaming. Two new consoles got released, but I doubt that they will come into their prime until 2007.

2006 laid the groundwork for what would come in 2007, I think. Two new consoles which will start to pick up speed next year and give us better games, and the PC market enters its own little next-gen with Microsoft Windows Vista, and DirectX 10.

Half-Life: Episode 2 is scheduled for Q2 2007, as well as much-delayed Ukrainian shooter STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl set for March 16th. Crysis will showcase new DirectX 10 technology, and Halo 3 will give gamers a taste with the public beta. Metal Gear Solid 4 moves ever closer to completion...

2006 was really good, but I think that 2007 will be much better.

2006 was merely a prelude for the greatness that 2007 will be.

Kingdom Hearts 2 out here was pretty much all I cared about in terms of new games in the past year. Super Princess Peach was fun for a while too. I think 2007 will be good for DS games (though I think some of them are out in the US already). That's just gaming in terms of me personally though, I don't know what it's usually like in general

2006 was a pretty good year. For me anyway, it saw me buy myself a new consoles in years, a 360. On the games front, its also been good, especially for people owning either handheld. The PSP saw Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max, Guilty Gear Judgement and Tekken DR which got me ecstatic, and the PS2 got two of greatest games of last generation, FFXII and Okami.

Although next year will blow 2006 out of the water.

2006 was better than 2005, and 2007 already looks like gold. As one mentioned, there is always room for improvement, and next year we'll start seeing some big things.

    Street Fighter 4, look out.

some amazing games (Okami, FFXII, Resistance: Fall of man, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and (To everybody but me) Gears of war)
The Psp is FINALLY starting to get good games.
The Ps2 is still going to get good games (R.I.P gamecube and Xbox)
