I think that Kadaj and Yazoo both do look feminine, especially with the really straight, silky hair.

Actually, at a glance, Cloud is somewhat effeminate. Granted, I would never mistake him for a girl, but then, I'm familiar with FF in general.
Honestly. It really doesn't matter what your grandmother may have thought. She's a grandmother. She's old and that means old-fashioned. Seeing the way people are today is confusing. Like I mentioned earlier, cross-dressing isn't as big a deal as once was so seeing a girl with short hair and a deep voice and guys clothes wouldn't anything amazing.
It's an honest mistake. Or at least I'll convince of that for the time being.
Jack: How do you know?
Will: It's more of a feeling really.
Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?
Will: No.
If Demolition Man were remade today
Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
Huxley: NO!
Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
Spartan: But Huxley.
Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.
By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.
Please don't forget Kuja in FFIX! I'm a woman in real life, and I like men to have a masculine figure. Kuja was a bit messed up I think. Oh yeah! Those of you who've got past the Terra part of the game will understand the nature of his being. I think something went wrong. I mean the guy has an effeminate man's face and a woman's body! *shakes head.*
And I found Raidan rather good looking if you ask me. Though I hated him when I found he'd got Rose knocked up. He's really not a father figure at all and he looks far too young and inexperienced. You know what I mean right? I'd look at Snake as more of a father figure than Raidan.

honestly, i don't know what the heck she was thinking. She was probably confused over the fact that what she saw was different from what she heard, thus why she asked the question.I guess she just thought they were the kind of girls with deeper voices who try to act like men and call each other bro. GOD!!! It's no wonder! Chicks need to act like chicks. Stop confusing the senior citizens you damned FREAKS!!
But it is true, the effeminate look is 'in' for men. And some of them do look pretty darn female lookin'. But still, in this case, the jump was just to big to mistake Cloud for a girl. geez, it sounds like some kind of dumb joke. 'Cloud is a girl!' It's as bad as 'Raistlin is a girl!'.
oh god.
Well, not with all the facial hair, he wouldn't! Anyway, I honestly thought Yazoo was a girl... Later I saw the movie and then I thought he looked like a drag queen... Man... The whole Sephiroth clone trio seems to be taken out from some sort of yaoi comic, IMO...
RedXThirteen looks like he was neutered. Does that count as being semi-feminine too? I mean, even though hes not technically a MAN, his dominate 'male canine' feature isnt there. Not that I look *cough cough* or anything...

XD
Well yeah, that's why she thought that they were 'sisters' fighting each other. one of the wonder brothers called cloud 'brother'.they never actually called eachother brother they called cloud brother
Exactly.
As I said in a post about how Larsa in FFXII looks like a girl, I was saying how Japanese character design often features males which are made "beautiful" rather than manly/handsome etc...Especially when the character is evil.
When watching AC with a friend of mine (who while likes Asian culture the same as me, isnt as accustomed with it as I am yet) at one point he had to ask whether he was seeing a boy or a girl. I wasnt too surprised and could easily understand why he might think that, and why your mother etc might think the same.
I'd be seriously worried if you think they look VERY male...
Wow...Way to ruin the movie by not watching it with the original Japanese speech :rolleyes2
Whats so hard about reading subtitles? I go to see an asian movie here in England and I'm literally disgusted when a few minutes into the movie countless ignorant xenophobic idiots walk out once they realise its not dubbed in English...
Japanese voices will always be far superior to dodgy English/American dubbing, just like something made in England or America would sound bad with a foreign language dubbing.
Is reading really that difficult?![]()

Kadaj does really look somewhat feminine sometimes and I don't mean looks, I would never have thought he's a girl, if not his behavior and moves what makes me think he acts not like a man, but I think it was intention of creators. He does have "dual" personality.
As for Cloud, you people gotta be kidding, he looks masculine all the way! Don't see how you can mistake him for girl really...
Stop the Earth! I want to get out!...
lol, no, I already said that they are effeminate looking, but not so much as to mistake them for women.Originally Posted by xtrava

Dude, don't go there. K? Don't. You see, this in not the thread for this disscussion. Please feel free to make your own thread on the topic. But to reply, and finally end this topic, I find that it takes longer to get used to the Japanese voices as the language is so much radically different from English. Spanish; I get used to it, no prob. Japanese; takes a while.
2nd, I for one, wanted to hear the characters speak in a language I know. It's somewhat of a big moment, considering that in the game, they're all, obviously, mute. So, with the astounding graphics, and the revelation of hearing their voice, I didn't want to ruin it by listening to it in a foregin language that I know only a handful of words from.
3rd, I also did hear it in Japanese and I didn't like the voices as much as I did in the English version. or rather, the voices in the english version fit my idea of what they would sound like much better. K? k.
4th, (on a roll here) it may be your opinion that Japanese voices and whatnot are better, but to address your accusation of 'dodgy' translation: The japanese lingo is all about 'dodgy'. 'Tis true. Say something out right in Japan? Yeah. Sure. Somehow(though I don't believe this myself) "I want to meet you." means "be my boyfriend." Japanese is a dodgy thing all in itself. It's a pain to tranlate it into another language as well. But I do agree with you on the fact that anything with dubbing that has been translated will not sound as good as it would be in the original language. But it helps to know the language.
P.S. I love to read, do not question my reading skills, I read battelfield earth when I was 11, keep it up and my flying monkeys will come after you! Got it memorized?
