Jesus Christ walks into a hotel, he hands the inkeeper three nails, and asks"Could you put me up for the night?"

This is a joke I heard a while ago.
I kind of chuckled, and then felt guilty afterwards.
I told my girlfriend this joke and she scorned me. You know that must have been pretty bad; because she is Jewish.
Is this an inappropriate joke?
