It causes the sap affliction I believe to your favorite bad monster your throwing it at.

Sap isn't very strong except over a very very long fight.
Try casting it on yourself to see how relatively .... not strong it is.

Believe thats magic > submagic > Bleed > targets monster > hit R1 or L1 twice(to target your active party members > pick a member.. > cast

It's very very slow at killing things.

Then just cast esuna I believe, or go to a save crystal to remove it.... or restart the game if you didn't do much

Yes I have cast it a few times myself, and now I won't touch it ever again.

Yeah, using Sap is mostly good against boss battles, hunts, or the harder rare game enemies. Even then I rarely use Bleed - I'm much more likely to use Sap now that it's inherent in Scourge, because it does normal damage on top of afflicting Sap.

Did you use it against an undead ?

Sap / Drain or Bleed against Skeletons, Reapers and Vampirs causes your HP to go down.

Yeah, I tried that on a Shield Wyrm in the Cerobi Steppe. It was amusing.

Sap is good on the Blood Sword, because it does additional damage and makes fights easier.... so meh.

Never used Bleed. Don't plan on it either. it's just one of those "pointless to me" spells that sits in my inventory and gathers dust. Attack > Magic for my attacks.

Drain is a lot quicker. Put it on a gambit:

    Foe: Character MP > 30% / Drain
