I would like you to take out a ruler.

1) Measure the length of your hand from your wrist to the very tip of your middle finger.

2) Hold your hand out flat, palm up, with your fingers together, but without pressing your fingers too tightly together. Measure the width of your hand, from your first knuckle of your thumb (the knuckle farthest from the tip of the finger) to the other side of your hand directly from that knuckle.

EDIT: I didn't explain 2) very good. Basically, hold them like in this picture here.
