So we bought FFXi. What are we meant to do?

I just started my 30 day trial at the beginning of the month. It's hard for me to get into this game. I don't like being dropped into a city without even so much direction as how to walk or even open the options or settings. The first thing I had to do was look up what buttons do what. So, I just got out of Windurst and I think i'm karate chopping bees with my thief? I'm having a hard time figuring out how to attack.

I really want to enjoy this game. The music is fantastic, the opening scene was cool, the boss battles look exceptionally fun but honestly, the FF11 experience is going completely over my head. I don't get it.

I honestly don't even remember. I played it for the first few days of my trial and then just left it be for the other 25 days of the month. It expired a few days ago.

I'd be willing to give it another go if someone here wanted to play with me until I at least got my feet off the ground, though. I want to like this game.

We did the exact same thing. xD Played it a few times, and then the free trial ran out, and we couldn't justify paying for the sub. Ah well. Maybe the three of us could team up and power through!

In our first hour or so of actual gameplay (Issues surrounding install took about 3 days to resolve) we jumped in. Killed some bees and now we are lost.
