FTP is being a Pee-head
Okay, so I'm uploading stuff for mine and Shlup's site and my FTP client (FTP Now) is giving me crap.
Everytime I upload I get the following - "Internet Exception Error 12003200 Tpye set 1 to 200 PORT command succesful 451 (name of my file) Append/Restart not permitted, try again."
Does anyone know what the heck this means and how I can fix it? I was going to download another client and use it, but I cant because the password is saved in this program and I dont have it anywhere else, nor do I know it at all (yes, I know I'm dumb).
I'd wait for Mandee to come on and send it to her to upload, but she's moving today and our site judgement is today as well.
Help ;_;

Which program are you using?

Ah nevermind, I got a little system worked out. I have to delete the file from the ftp before I upload it, what a drag *closes*

*reopens* We don't like to close threads in this forum, because someone else might have the same problem, or someone might have something to add. (c_l and I for example.)
It sounds like you're trying to overwrite a file with a file that's bigger, but your client thinks you're trying to resume a transfer that died previously. What client is it, if I might ask, so I can avoid ever using it?

I just found an AWESOME free FTP/SSH client. I'm really impressed... it's FireZilla (http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla)

Yep, Filezilla is what I use in Windows too. It's very nice.

I use puTTy for SSH and Ws_ftp pro for ftp myself. I can't complain about either.
And then there is Death

My reply to this thread got lost. Oh well.
Anyway, as I had said, I use FTP Now and I wasnt having any problems before. It would upload over files (of course asking 'The file yourmomma.php already exists. Overwrite?' that sort of stuff) and then all of the sudden this happened.
Mandee uses CuteFTP, and I like that a lot better.

ssh is better than ftp though. HOWEVER I never use ssh except for school.
-
ssh and ftp are different sorts of protocols. SSH is to telnet as SFTP is to FTP.

That slipped my mind, but yes...I just contributed nothing to this
*wanders off to cause more mischief*
