Haven't done one of these in awhile. Which FF do you consider to be the best and why? Sequels and side games count but you can only choose one.

True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
Final Fantasy 6. Just love all the characters, music and badguy.
Final Fantasy 9 comes really close.
FFVI will always be the best for me. I just love the story, the characters and the music so much.
i have to say 7 is the best with 6 pulling in 2nd so close it's a photo finish...
I really want to say FFTactics, but I'm going to have to say FFVI. I still consider it one of the most forwards thinking entries in the series and one of the few entries to perfectly balance story and fun gameplay. It has it's fair share of faults mind you, but I find the good elements far outweigh it's few problems.

I also want to say FFTactics, because I love tactical RPGs, but I'll have to go with 7 since it's the one that I've played the most and remember the most fondly.
I also want to say Final Fantasy Tactics.....so I will!
Second place for me would be FFVII, I have so many fond memories of it, and I enjoy playing it every time.
FFVI. Doesn't seem to be an unpopular opinion here.
I like FFVIII so much that even though I recognize it probably isn’t the best, I still have to vote for it. It is my absolute favorite.
But IX is probably the best if I separate the fact that VIII was my first and means a lot to me.
Tactics Advance. I loved all the races and jobs, and then there’s the story which is to this day one of the most poorly understood and underappreciated in the medium. It’s funny how a story about kids playing make believe is one of the most profound and mature I’ve experienced. Of course, the original Tactics May have very well taken its place, but I also played TA first, so it kind of has additional nostalgic value for me.
Out of the main series, it’s a tie between VI and XII.
Out of the ones I've played it's VII, with X a close second. I love pretty much everything about both games. My opinion will probably change once I finally get around to the SNES games, based on what I've heard.
It was my first and therefore will never be beaten. Incredible characters, story and music, the one and only... FFVII
