Somewhat slow paced, turn based, good games.
You know - kinda like Tactics or the Front Mission series. I need something to distract me from doing work all the time, but something I can leave running and not have to actively participate in. FFT and FM4 have worked well since they just kinda wait for me to do stuff. I suppose FFX works in that respect as well, but I still have to run around a world map and hit random battles. So, suggestions? I'm drawing blanks, since traditionally I like games that are very involving.

Advance Wars. Seriously, it's the greatest turn-based game created by humanity. Everything that isn't Advance Wars-orientated is just rubbish by comparison.

Fire Emblem, it's also great cause you can open up the game, do two moves, then turn it off without saving, it autosaves after every command you input so even if you just turn it off randoml, it will be saved to that point in the battle, it's really handy!

The Fallout series.
Disgaea, La Pucelle, Phantom Brave, and more than likely Makai Kingdom are all good. If you haven't played Xenogears yet, buy it already you bloody infidel!

I've heard good things about romance of the 3 kingdoms. more of a war game, but meh.
